Theme Change Time to freshen up the blog a little. I've implemented a new theme titled "minimalist," but with a few changes of my own.
Notice anything different? You probably can't tell, but I've upgraded to the newest version of Wordpress 2.7.something. I'm hoping to begin updating some during the summer.
NPR Internship This love of Maroon 5 had me up early Sunday morning on eBay bidding for tickets. I shiver to think I now possess two lawn tickets to their July 28 concert in Raleigh. It won't be soon before long!
NPR Internship This week marked my first as a summer intern for NC Public Radio's "The State of Things." Best part so far: I get my own cubicle. And you can tell you're at NPR from the way the office kitchen is stocked -- brie and baguettes instead of ancient Lean Cuisine meals and burned popcorn.
Updated WordPress I just finished upgrading to the latest version of WordPress, a complicated process involving much frustration, yelling, cursing, and tears.
Off the Tusk
Unforgiven UnforgivenClint Eastwood's Oscar-winning film. The story is an excellent, multi-layered vehicle for Eastwood, culminating in a powerful, charged ending.4 elephants
Across the Universe Across the UniverseBeatles songs strung together into a feature-length music video. Cartoonish '60s plotline forgettable, but the covers of tunes like "I Want You" and "Something" are memorable.2 elephants
The Usual Suspects The Usual SuspectsA well-crafted, funny, and brainy thriller. I guessed the surprise ending in the opening 15 minutes of the film, but that may have just been luck.3.5 elephants
The Good German The Good GermanI didn't expect to see such stylistic film noir in a modern release. Despite the miscast Tobey Maguire, this manageable plot is well done, right down to the old-style 1.66:1 aspect ratio.3 elephants
Spiderman 3 Spider-Man 3Summer fluff, but fun. Better than previous sequel and on par with the first. Why is Spidey almost invincible during fights, though?2.5 elephants
